Tackle Box Shells are Composed of White King Starlite®

Tackle box shells are fabricated out of King Starlite® because of its price and weight savings. Starlite is Starboard that has a blowing agent added before it is extruded. The result is a less dense, lighter and cheaper material that is equally water and weather resistant.

The major trade off of this blowing agent is the cellular edge it creates. When Starlite gets dirty, the edges become very difficult to clean. For this reason, Starboard is used on all visible parts of your tackle box. This includes your door, frame, drawers, dividers, and anything else that would show an edge.

The sides, top, bottom, back, and other structural portions of the box are composed of white Starlite because they are hidden once the box is installed in your cutout. This will not change regardless of the color you select.
