High Quality Build
Nicer than I expected. This is a really top notch unit. It holds my 4 large spinners and 2 small casters no problem. Should last for years. Easy to install. I will be purchasing another for the port side.

Awesome Product!
For the past five years I've been storing all my rods on towels, on my cushions in the cuddy cabin of my 35' Jefferson Marlago. As I planned my most recent 10-12 day Bahamas trip (Nassau, Eleuthera, Harbor Island, Great Harbor, Chub and Bimini), some of the hotels/resorts were completely booked, requiring me to actually sleep in my cabin for the first time. How was I going to store and secure my rods overnight AND sleep in the cabin? These rod holders were the perfect solution! They were super easy to assemble and install. The only thing I modified was using longer screws to attach the mounting plates to the holders and I also used #8 x 2.5" to mount the top plate to the cabin walls for maximum embedment and strength. Teflon sealant on all fasteners too!

They seem to be bullet proof and I can hang on them with almost all my weight and they don't budge. Most importantly, these holders have freed up my cabin for habitation and nocturnal activities! I looked at pretty much every product on the market for my application and I am extremely pleased with this product. As you can see, I have 3 Penn 30's and a spinner on one rack and five spinners on the other. The only thing I haven't figured out is where to store my two bent butt 50's and bent butt deep drop electric. Hopefully I'll figure it out or I will be spooning them at night.

I highly recommend this product!!

Response from Boat Outfitters
Hi Bennett! We'd agree that its too tight to stack large offshore rods with the reels on the same side. That said, we've found it works well for must customer when you alternate the reel side. Thanks for the feedback though - it's important for customers to know both the pros & limitations of our parts!

Works on a pontoon
Very sturdy product. With the mounting brackets being adjustable I was able to use the horizontal rails for mounting. Would have given 5 stars if all 6 screws would have been included.

How wide is the slot that a rod or gaff can be inserted into?
Paul K on Nov 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hello Paul, the slots for the items to fit into are 1.25" wide. Please let us know if you have any other questions or if there is anything else we can do for you.
What is the different shades of the colors white/white....artic white...and seafoam? I can't distinguish a color change looking at these on the website.
Stan R on Nov 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This is a great question. White/White is our brightest white that we offer. It is going to be the most common out of our color options. Arctic White is still White but is a noticeable shade darker but not quite an off white. Seafoam is an off-white eggshell color.

I hope this helped answer your question. Please let us know if there is anything else we can help you with.

What is the dimension from the top mounting holes to the bottom mounting holes?
Jon A on Sep 2, 2019

I'm looking to mount these in a Carolina Skiff - can they be glued or epoxied in?
A shopper on Jan 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Glues and adhesives really do not bond well to Starboard we do recommend using some type of fastener to attach them to the boat. Please feel free to give us a call if you would like to discuss some other options.
is the 5 inch measurement how far they stick out from mounting surface or is that 3.25?
John R on Oct 29, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Unless you have a cabin cruiser I would not recommend the 4 rod gunwhale mount holder. First, they do stick out 5 inches which if you were to mount them in a center console boat they become a hazard in traffic area. Second, there is no padding at the rod holding areas. Therefore; when in transit rods bounce and slide causing damage to the rods. And lastly, if the bungees are exposed to the elements, they deteriorate rather quickly. I hope this answer was helpful.
