Great product, we will see how it holds up in Florida!
Great product! Took about an hour to measure and cut. I’ll be buying another sheet in the future to expand.

Is this for a boat deck?
A shopper on Nov 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, this can be applied to a boat deck as well as other areas. The product has an adhesive backing that will adhere to most surfaces.
Could I use this to wrap the rungs of my boat ladders? Would the glue hold up when wet?
Hosedragger on Sep 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi Les, I cannot guarantee this would work as a long term solution as the material is designed to be installed on flat or slightly curved areas. I am not sure how well this will work wrapped around ladder rungs and then submerged. Thanks Les!
Do you have anything that we could custom cut on our dash to keep things from sliding around?
Eric H on Feb 25, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Great question Eric,

Yes, this product can be cut to size with a sharp razor blade. Another product that can help with making sure your stuff doesn't slide off is our custom keeper strip.

Both of these products will help you keep your gear in place.

Thanks, Eric.
Is this to be used as an alternative to carpet?
A shopper on Nov 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hello, Seadek is a great alternative to areas where you previously had carpet installed. It is also very easy to install with a peel and stick backing and would be much easier to clean!

Please let us know if you have any other questions or if there is anything else we can do for you.
Will Seadeck stick to starboard?
Geoff M on Oct 6, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Geoff - That's a great question! SeaDek will adhere to starboard, but at some point it will begin to pull away from the starboard unless the edge of the SeaDek is protected. For example - our custom helm risers have a milled out section on the top for the SeaDek to be installed into which protects the edges from peeling up over time.
Will fish guts and blood wash off or does it stain?
Kathy M on Jul 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi Kathy, fish blood should not be allowed to sit on the seadek for a long period of time. If allowed to sit, fish blood will stain the material. It typically does not stain when rinsed off quickly afterwards. Thank you!
My boat is kept in a slip in North Texas. Will spider or bird poop stain the product or make it harder to clean than the existing anti skid? thanks
jim M on Jun 19, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi Jim, Great Question!!! To clean dirt, footprints, etc. from your SeaDek, use an all purpose cleaner, such as Formula 409®, and warm water along with a medium bristled deck brush. Put the cleaner in warm water. Take a medium bristled brush and dunk into the soapy water. Work around on SeaDek until dirt, etc. comes up.
I have an aluminum 14' jon boat, will SeaDek significantly make the benches in my boat cooler?
John C on Jan 1, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi John, Great question! We would not be able to give you any exact numbers, but from experience, it's going to make a huge difference in the heat transferred to you sitting or standing on it. It will be much cooler to the touch.
Will the adhesive backing adhere to a textured fiberglass boat floor? The surface is flat, but not smooth. There are tiny raised traction bumps (maybe 1mm tall) across the entire floor.
Bryan R on Jun 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: hi Bryan,
As long as the surface is clean when installed then the SeaDek should stick, 1mm ridges should not impede adhesion. I hope this helps!
Will the adhere to an aluminum boat bottom?
Stefanie D on May 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hello Stefanie, as long as the surface is clean and free of dirt/oil you should have no problem installing this on aluminum. Please let us know if you have any other questions or if there is anything else we can do for you.
I have stripped the carpet from my Pontoon deck leaving marine grade ply wood. Would this be a suitable replacement for the carpet? Deck is 8' x 22'
Jeff B on May 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hello Jeff, absolutely, SeaDek is a great replacement for any area that carpet was previously installed.
Can it be applied to a curved surface?
A shopper on May 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hello, Seadek is foam material and can be installed on a curved surface as long as the mounting surface is clean and prepped appropriately.
What product is required or recommended to prep the area for application? This would be applied to the original decking of a 2007 TwinVee.
Annette S on Feb 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: hi Annette, great question! Sea Dek recommends that you use acetone or alcohol and a clean rag to remove any dirt, sunscreen, wax, sweat, and Scrub the surface well and let it dry completely before installing the Sea Dek. Thank you!
Can you put this over wood?
Millerman on Jan 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: As long as the wood is clean when installed then the SeaDek should stick. I hope this helps!
Two questions: 1) How hard is it to pull up when no longer wanted, and 2) flammable; i.e., is it fire resistant or does it burn with abandon?
HR M on Jan 10, 2018
BEST ANSWER: These are great questions. It can be a little difficult to remove and clean the adhesive, requiring mineral spirits to fully remove the adhesive. As for the flammability, the material mostly melts but will ignite. In our own testing we found it does melt first but will ignite within 15-20 seconds. This does require the material to be in direct flame for this to happen. Thank you!
I'm looking for a flooring I can put on the fly bridge deck on my Hatteras. I have concerns that wirh the boat sitting in the slip year round (San Diego) and the biweekly washings, so it would get wet, will I run into a mold issue growing under the SeaDeck Sheet Material?
A shopper on Jan 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hello, I can definitely understand your concerns on that, we have not heard of mold issues with Seadek and it is installed on boats all across the country in very wet humid areas so I do not believe you would have any issues. If you give SeaDek a call they should be able to provide you with a better explanation on how porous/breathable the material actually is to help you make the final decision. I hope this helps and please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.
Can be put over worn carpet on a pontoon?
Mitch m on Dec 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Great question- This product cannot be put over worn carpet because the adhesive that is beneath it would not be able to stick to the carpet. I hope this helps!
