      Tools needed for installation:
      1/4" Drill Bit
      Rubber Mallet

      How to Install:

Step 1: Ensure proper fit- visually check the SkegGuard model fits well with your motor skeg before beginning installation. There needs to be at least 2-3" of upper skeg remaining for installation, and if the skeg has been bent or distorted it needs to be realigned back to the original shape to guarantee proper fit

Step 2: Prepare your skeg for installation- If needed make any repairs or file down any spurs or jagged edges before installing your SkegGuard to ensure an easy and proper fit on your skeg. For increased visual appeal you can prime and paint the exposed section of the skeg before installing the SkegGuard

Step 3: Place SkegGuard onto your Skeg- use a rubber mallet to gently tap the SkegGuard onto your skeg to start, then drive it on with the mallet until it is completely seated in the proper position. If your lower unit has a reinforced wear tab on the lower end or bottom of the skeg that tab should be filed flush with the skeg to provide a proper fit

Step 4: Secure in place- Using the two pre-drilled mounting holes on the SkegGuard as pilot holes, drill through your skeg with a 1/4" drill bit and then secure it in place with the provided stainless steel hardware
