I used the primer over top of cracked and peeling gel coat on a fiberglass floor. it filled in the cracks, helped to adhere any chips that were not removed and provided a good base for the tuffcoat.

Works Great, surface prep is key.
Purchased the primer mix, the metal etching primer and the Grey rubberized coating for a refurb of a older Alumacraft. After considering re-carpet, I found this stuff. Had to re-deck everything then started the priming. Surface prep is crucial but if instructions are followed, its a breeze to do. Works great and looks great.

CP-10 primer
Easy to mix and apply. Did an excellent job of sealing and priming the marine grade plywood I am using for my new boat floor.

I was excited to see that the two cans in the picture looked even better. They weren't as shinny as the picture but were beautiful all the same. All I can say is WOW what great can!!

I used tuff coat on the floor of my boat. The rugs were old and looked terrible. The product work great. Used the primer, very easy to apply. Next day I rolled on the tuff coat. Looks great and is easy to clean after being out on the water. I highly recommend tuff coat and their primer.

Edward H on May 29, 2019

Can it be used over an already painted fiberglass surface ?

BEST ANSWER: Yes it can. I would clean the surface thoroughly and scuff with 120 grit sand paper prior to painting.
Can I use this over a piece of plywood that has been sealed with a product like Thompson's Water Sealer?
Josh W on Nov 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi Josh, that is a great question! Tuff Coat primer can certainly be applied to plywood. As for the Thompson's Water seal which is already there, it should be able to stick with proper preparation. Tuff coat recommends a clean surface and light sanding for proper adhesion.

Our only concern is de-lamination and if it will stick well to Thompson's Water Seal specifically. I would recommend that you contact Tuff coat directly to get a confirmation on what would work best for your application.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at 866-633-7961.
