replacement windshield
Was able to cut to size slowly with a dremel mulitimax with no issue. Boat outfitters acrylic bits worked for holes. Looks clear and strong.

clear acrylic looks great!
2 pieces of acrylic were actually installed in a commercial bar setting to protect a portion of a stained and varnished bar while retaining the beauty the stained wood. It looks great, and when/if the acrylic get scared enough to detract from the overall appearance, it can be simply be unscrewed and replaced with no down time to the bar owners. I highly recommend this for protecting beautiful fragile surfaces.

is this material UV resistant and good for boat windows in the tropics?
Also, for a 24" x 36" window, is 1/2" thick enough to stand up to hurricane wind on a vertical surface, or would 3/4 be preferred? thank you
DrUnkle on Mar 4, 2019

Great Question! The acrylic plexiglas are in fact UV stabilized and would do just fine in the tropics.
As for holding up to hurricane forces, the thicker material will perform better, but this is not the intended purpose of the material. We cannot say with any certainty that this material in any thickness will hold up under those circumstances. Thanks Dean!
I want to replace the cracked plexiglass in my port windows. They are oval shaped so what tools would I use to cut 3/8" and 1/2" to shape and not scratch it?
John S on May 17, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi John, we cut all of our acrylic on our CNC routers, but the best hand tool to use would be hand router, like a Dremmel or a Roto-Zip. This style of cutting is cleaner and less likely to chip/crack the cut edges. We typically use 1/2" router bits to keep the bit from flexing for a cleaner cut. Thanks John!
Is this acrylic cast or extruded?
A shopper on Jan 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Almost all of our acrylic is cast acrylic because it's a higher quality material than extruded acrylic. Cast acrylic is more predictable (as far as expansion and contraction) when heating and bending. I hope this helps!
