Have not yet installed the new wheel yet, so can’t give full review until I know how it holds up. It looks well made and is sold by a US company which is important to me. Could have saved a few dollars by going overseas, but prefer to do business where I know they’ll be there if anything goes wrong. Boat Outfitters is a good company.

Does the steering knob spin or is it stationary?
A shopper on May 10, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hello, that is a great question, the knob itself does spin it is not a fixed post attached to the wheel.
Which nit will I need for a mako pro skiff 15 ?
A shopper on Apr 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hello, the nut is based on what type of steering you have on the boat. When you select the drop down it has the 3 different sizes listed with the corresponding steering system.
I am replacing a 13" wheel which has a 3/4" nut. It is on a 20 ft Aluminum fishing boat with mechanical steering. . I don't get the difference for the nut size for hydraulic steering?
m c on Apr 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: That is a great question, honestly it is really just based on who manufactured the system. Mechanical steering systems would typically use the 1/2" wheel nut and hydraulic steering the 5/8". U flex uses a metric nut (M12). Please let us know if you have any other questions or if there is anything else we can do for you
What siz steering shaft is this wheel?
A shopper on Apr 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Great Question,

This product can accommodate many sizes of steering shafts. We have nuts for M12,5/8", and 1/2". You can order whichever best fits your vessel.

Thanks.
What boats will it fit?
A shopper on Dec 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The steering wheels listed on our site are universal parts, the only difference is the center nut that attaches them. To decide which nut you would need to select you would just need to select the style of your steering system from the drop down menu on the page. If you have any other questions feel free to give us a call and one of sales reps would be happy to assist you.
Do you sell an option suitable for a seastar hydraulic steering? Thanks

If I have a Sea Star 1.7 Tilt system, which size would I need and will this wheel work with this system?
C W on Sep 23, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi CW, as long as the steering wheel shaft on your Sea Star helm is a 3/4" Tapered Shaft, then the steering wheel will fit. As for the size of the nut, I believe you will need the 5/8" nut. Personally, I like to go with a smaller steering wheel on hydraulic systems because you don't need the leverage of the larger steering wheel, and it doesn't take up as much space. Thank you!
I have a 2008 Sea Fox 17' center console. Its a 13" steering wheel. Will this product fit on my boat? Thanks
Vince B on Jul 24, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Absolutely
Hello- do you have replacement knob for 3 spoke stainless wheel. I purchased previously and knob came off and bearing out. Can it be rebuilt? Thanks
Joseph S. C on May 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Great question! Unfortunately to the milling and construction of the wheel the knob is not replaceable and is only sold as a complete unit.
