Replacing Boat Scupper Flaps
Luke 00:07
So when I first started in sales here, a lot of people call in and they'd be like, hey, how do I fix, replace or restore my scupper flaps? Well, I've always had a bass boat. I've always been a bass fisherman. So scupper flaps were kind of like something that was totally new to me. You know, so Matt what do you need to know when you're replacing your scupper flaps?
Matt 00:28
I mean, you really just need to know the size right? And there's a different there's a couple of different types of scuppers drains or covers whatever they may be, but you know, and to be clear, we're not really talking about replacing the thru hulls here we're replacing the little rubber flapper that wears out, dries out over time starts leaking water back in. You can go and measure the diameter of the flapper that you have, search it on our website. You can find it right there, find the appropriate one. And conversely, if you're not happy with that style of scupper you can change it out to maybe like the ping pong ball style and float up and plug the hole. Right and I know that I just replaced those style scuppers covers on our Everglades. They were 16 years old, 15 years old at this point and just ready to be replaced and now they're back in tip-top shape.

So the big goal is don't repair right but replace and in most cases, I know that we've like you said we sell different sizes are is somebody's going on there and looking for the size doesn't matter what brand it is right? I think that some of the ones we have like a little metal thing at the top and are able to screw in from GEM or we've got some from TH Marine that like a plastic housing that goes around it. So are you looking to do something different or are you just generally going back in with the same thing?
Matt 01:40
Generally you want to go back with the same thing. That's the easiest, right? You don't have to change out any systems it is generally plug-and-play. That's the way you really want to stick with it.

Gotcha.
