Swim Platform from Starboard A/S
Good materials ... I sandwiched together the anti-skid (top) and regular (bottom) to create a 1.5" swim platform with a telescoping ladder mounted underneath.

Boat Outfitters called me to confirm some notes on my order, and I was happy to hear them say the was a good material choice for my project.
Powder-coated 16 degree brackets and telescoping ladder.
Trimmed to 16", radius corners, notched for turning motor fully.

Good raw material
Used the textured side up for deck plugs and the reverse side for plugs in cabin wall to fill 2" holes left after some modifications to our boat. Material cut well with router, left smooth edges.
Deck plugs from .5" thick stock, routed to .25" thick flange

Non-skid custom battery tray.
Just a chunk of half-inch that I trimmed to fit in the engine room for a custom battery tray. Non-skid facing up and meshing with a rubber mat to make it "impossible-skid". Successful project that doubled my house battery capacity.
Two batteries installed with custom hold down and custom USCG required top terminal cover.
Rubber scrim mat installed to make non-skid into -non-slid also.
Base plate cut to fit space available

Great product to work with
Bought this to make a cover for my anchor box, I am not a carpenter so its not perfect, but it was really easy to work with with refular wood saws and sander. Easier then fiberglassing some plywood. Love it

is it rigid enough for a transom for a outboard motor. ?
Gary B on Sep 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi Gary, We DO NOT recommend using starboard for any transom. Starboard is not as rigid as wood or coosa, and is not very easy to seal in place. For more info on this please reach out to us at 866-633-7961. Thanks Gary!
can starboard be bent in a rounded upward edge by about an 1 1/2" for a step, do not want to cut and glue?
curtis b on Aug 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Great question. Starboard does have some flex to it in thinner thicknesses. That said, it will not retain a shape unless properly heat bent.
Can this be painted with a topside paint ?
A shopper on Apr 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Great question! No, this material should not be painted as the paint will not hold to the material for very long. However, it is available in a wide range of colors to complement most common gel coat colors.
What are the shipping costs for a piece 76"x43", and 2 pieces 17"x76"?

Could I use this for the boat's floor?
JosephS on Feb 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Great Question Joseph,

This product will be great to use for a boat floor as long as it is used in a small area application, like a deck hatch. This product flexes quite a bit and needs to be well supported. It also will not adhere to anything well and cannot be fiberglassed. The best way to fasten it to anything is with screws.

Thanks Joseph!
What type of filler could I use for this product? Say for screw heads
Michael G on Feb 25, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Great Question Micheal

We sell starboard plugs that will work great to cover screw heads. We don't have them up on our website yet but the SKU #128-1041. You can give us a call at (866) 633-7961 and we will be happy to place an order for you.

Thanks Micheal!
Is this rigid enough for an inflatable boat deck?
A shopper on Nov 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We do build deck hatches and some other items out of Starboard but it would really depend on the dimensions and thickness you were looking to add. I would recommend giving us a call and one of our sales reps would be happy to talk through your project with you.
Got some from you very recently... very good job. One question... could I get rounded edges in the corners and do you have the anti-skid in the diamond and not the circle to match my other stuff?
Mark Fiorillo on Sep 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hello Mark, I'm glad you were happy with the Starboard. If you would like to specifically discuss your project please feel free to give us a call at (866) 633-9204 and we would be happy to see what we can work out for you.
