Great replacement
The lock replacement for Seaswirl Striper, was an exact match and super easy to install. Just wiggle it in place and the spring loaded catches will enagage, no tools necessary.

Don’t get it it’s garbage.!!
I bought this lock for my boat because someone broke into my boat and broke it ! I got it and put it in and it fit good but th dam thing broke in two and all the pieces fell on the floor !there goes 50 $ It’s all thin plastic and not worth the money

What does the bolt go through if nothing on the hatch? Looks like lock has a bar in it that goes back and forth. What does it go through?

BEST ANSWER: I asked the same question and this is the answer I got... Hope it helps.
Robert, who bought this item 1 year ago, answered:
"Ok so to change the cabin door lock you need to pull in the two pins one either side and they are spring loaded.
So I was able to get one side free first and blocked it from going back in, then worked on getting the other side in once they are both in the lock just comes up and off."
Does this lock come in a stainless steel? The plastic keeps breaking when someone leans on it. Two broke in three days.

BEST ANSWER: Hello Tom, these latches need a very specific thickness of door, we actually have to take extra steps to prep the material when we use these latches in house. There is not a metal version available but if you give us a call one of our sales reps will be able to talk to you about the installation to try and help you with the issue you've been having.
how does this lock attach/secure to door?

BEST ANSWER: Great question,

This lock attaches to doors by a rectangular cut out that has a notched on the lower portion of the rectangle. It would have a similar shape to an upside down T.

If for any reason it does not work it is a returnable item. If you would like to confirm the dimensions please feel free to send me a picture and some dimensions of your current latch to brian@boatoutfitters.com and I will match up your latch to one from our stockroom to confirm for you.
