Just what I needed
I actually bought these to create a sliding trolling motor mount, and they are perfect. Used marine starboard material for the base and top motor mount. These slides handle the 35# trolling motor fine, and allow me to slide it back onto the deck of the boat when not in use. Perfect. Very sturdy and strong.

Hi! Can these be mounted such that they are exposed to the elements (water) and remain operable? Do they require maintenance? Thanks
BEST ANSWER: This is a great question Cliff. We do not use them in applications where they are permanently exposed to the elements. Typically they are housed inside of a storage system and only exposed when extended. The only maintenance requirement would be to keep them clean and lubricated (protected from salt water). This could certainly prolong their useful life vs no maintenance at all. Thanks Cliff!

What are the bearings made of?
BEST ANSWER: The full extension drawer slides use stainless stainless steel bearing and arms designed to hold up in marine environments. These tracks are the same ones used on various parts for over 200 boat builders and have held up very well in those tough conditions.

Do these "lock" in the open position?
BEST ANSWER: Hello Tim, these drawer slides do not hold in teh open or closed position on their own so these would always have to be used with a latch or some type of catch to keep the drawer in position. Can the distance of slide be adjusted so that they don't fully extend?

are they able to be mounter on the top edges of the draw for under table style draw? example under a bait table or rigging station.
