Now I can use all rod holders on my Grady White 209.
So far so good, wished bracket was a little longer in length for my application.
Install cutting board on transom
Had to bend right angle bracket to a u shape.
Used same holes in board, drill and tapped in bracket
Installed v-lock using p-nuts on back side

Good, solid base for an anchor light
This served as a solid bracket for my Perko Anchor light base that I mounted on the back of my pontoon boat. I was able to drill through the bracket with a hole saw and mount the socket base to the bracket.
Looks great.

V-Lock Bent Aluminum Insert
It works great and was easy to install. I use it to hold a downrigger and it works beautifully.

Quality Control?
Great mounting solution but mine wouldn't fit properly into the V-lock mount without using a belt sander to make the aluminum insert thinner. When I tried to insert it into the mount for the first time, it was so tight it scratched the powder coating off of my brand new mount.

The belt sander fixed my problem so I could complete my project, but I am still stuck with a scratched up mount.

I also bought the dual rod holder and the insert fit perfectly on that, but the HDPE that the rod holders mount to is bolted onto the angled insert crooked and looks like crap. Something else I will have to fix myself...

TV mounts
Have used these for TV mounts on different boats. Work great. I will say from years ago to now - the finish has gone from smooth to satin, I think this is due to the mfr. saving on the sanding/buffing before anodizing.

A shopper on Mar 25, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Great Question,

This product has not been tested in those conditions. You may want to consult the manufacturer of your downrigger to see what they would recommend.

What are the dimensions of the piece that inserts to the V-lock?
