It would appear that these should be the screws to use in your piano hinges, but you suggested a # 6 truss head screw. Was that a mistake?
BEST ANSWER: Hello Rob, that is a good question. The truss head screws that are recommended are the correct screws for the piano hinge. The head is flat enough that it is not taller than the barrel of the hinge so it does not interfere with the movement of the hinge. The flanges of the hinge are listed at 1/32", we have found that there is not enough thickness in the hinge for countersunk screws to be effective, they would either pull through or stick up and leave the hinge loose.
USING KEEPER STRIP 1 1/2 HEIGHT WHAT SIZE SCREW DO I NEED? WHAT LENGTH ARE THE SCREWS #6 #10 ETC
BEST ANSWER: Great Question Scott, We recommend #8 flat or round screws, as far as the length goes, that will really depend on the material that you will be mounting the keeper strips on.
