I would recommend this product to upgrade your boats lids to make it more accessible to your storage without the worry of the lids slamming shut on you. Very easy install!

How do you install it? I ordered one and destroyed it trying to install. I am going to order another.

BEST ANSWER: Hey William, great question. To install this shock the caps on either end must be taken off. In the photo the lower end of the shock is shown with the cap off. With this cap off place the shock onto the mounting bracket, then replace the cap on the shock on the back of the socket head. Thanks!
Will this fit a 2003 cobia cc live well lid?

BEST ANSWER: Great Question Al,

The best advice that we can give to you is to measure the length of the shock from center mounting hole to center mounting hole and look at the writing on the side of the main body. This will tell you the length and what kind of rating the shock you will need to replace it with.

Thanks Al!
